This is definitely one of our go-to recipes for Saturday breakfasts! Like most families, weekday mornings are usually pretty busy getting kids off to school and parents getting ready for work. That doesn't leave much time for a leisurely breakfast--either preparing or consuming! That's one reason we love weekends in our house! This recipe fits well into the category of "leisurely" breakfasts (and brunch, for that matter) because I adjusted it for use in my bread machine which takes care of most of the work as well as requiring fewer dishes. Sure, it takes time for the dough to mix and rise but since the bread machine does all of the work, I still consider it "leisurely" as all I am required to do is put the ingredients in and then curl up on the couch with my favorite book or magazine. I would suggest that you check the dough a few times during the bread machine cycle. If the dough appears too moist, add some flour and check again in a few minutes after it's had time to incorporate the addition.
